Job summary

Come and work at our new Diagnostic Centre at Clacton Hospital as a Receptionist in our Endoscopy Unit.

This is a fixed term position until 31st March 2024 however, there is a possibility that this may be extended. This post will be based at our new Community Clacton Diagnostic Centre, but you will be based at Colchester Hospital for training until January 2024.

Our Clacton Diagnostic Centre is expanding its current services by opening a new, exciting, state of the art Endoscopy Unit brining a diagnosis service closer to where patients are and offering a choice to speed up access to care. This is part of NHS England's 14 new Diagnostic Centres that they have been developing. This will be a brand newfacility with innovative ways of working.

This role will be integral in the creation of the new service, creating new pathways for patients to be treated in the community. You will be a friendly face for patients entering the unit.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17:00

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please ensure you have discussed this with your line manager.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high quality, approachable and helpful reception service for all patients and visitors
  • To ensure that all patients are registered efficiently and accurately, both on the SystmOne and Careflow systems as required
  • Flexibility will be required to provide cover for annual leave, bank holidays and sickness absences.
  • To collect and record personal information from patients/relatives on arrival in the department in an appropriate and confidential manner.
