If you are hardworking, motivated and would like to gain professional qualifications whilst you are working, this could be the opportunity for you.

In order to deliver a continuous, high quality ultrasound service, the Ultrasound department is looking for an applicant with NMC/HCPC registration to train to become an independently reporting Sonographer.

This excellent development opportunity is for Radiographers who wish to train in Ultrasound and have the necessary pre-requisites to successfully complete a PgD level qualification.

Preference will be given to candidates with a proven clinical and academic record who are able to meet the course needs and challenging timescale, with a long term commitment to the department.

Main duties of the job

The MSc in Medical Ultrasound course will take place at City University.

The course is organised in block release, in conjunction with compulsory clinical placements so that you can take the course while still working in a student role.

In accordance with accepted good practice, the course integrates theory with practice, meaning that you will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as you learn. The course is CASE accredited.

You will be required to reach at least a Post Graduate Diploma level of academic training.

This post is advertised as a trainee position under Annex U. Whilst studying you will be paid within the Band 6 salary range and upon confirmation of successful completion of this qualification and 6 months preceptorship you will move to the Band 7 role of Sonography Advanced Practitioner.

The Trust is committed to providing opportunities for CPD with monthly clinical meetings and opportunities to attend study days.
