Career progression of the current post holder has created an opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to our team in providing high quality and respected clinical pharmacy services as the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary Manager.
You will be based at Colchester Hospital, spending a significant proportion of time working within our dispensaries, supporting the clinical pharmacy service and the wider Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation agenda.
Being a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be expected to fully integrate within the wider hospital clinical environment providing a patient centred approach to medicines management and governance.

The post holder has specific accountability to:
- ensure the safe and effective management, co-ordination and delivery of, the Outpatient pharmacy dispensary service at Colchester hospital.
- provide professional leadership to other registered pharmacy technicians and all other members of the Pharmacy Dispensary team; especially those working within the Outpatient Dispensary environment.

You will be responsible for the management of the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary at Colchester hospital, and act as lead for that department, liaising closely with the Chief Technician and the Inpatient Dispensary Manager.
You will supervise all grades of staff working within the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary and will provide a robust pharmacy service to Trust Outpatients and virtual clinics held across Colchester Hospital.
In the absence of the Inpatient Dispensary Manager, you will assume responsibility in all aspects of the day to day organization of all three dispensaries within Colchester Hospital.
You will also be responsible for providing supervision and training to all grades of staff working within the dispensaries and provide an efficient pharmacy service to all departments at Colchester Hospital and outlying units.
