Materials Management Assistant Fixed Term

Band 3 £25,760 - £27,476 Per annum, pro rata
Hours: 30 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our Procurement team in facilitating a high-quality Materials Management service for Milton Keynes University Hospital. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of Materials Management and knowledge of inventory management systems and experience of working within the NHS would be beneficial. You will be a self-motivated individual that has excellent communication skills and a track record of working as part of a team and individually.

To provide a full materials management service to all patient clinical areas using appropriate stock control and re-ordering systems.
To ensure the correct use of PDA's to scan product bar codes, collect stock information and download for purchase order processing via NHS Supply Chain, and E-Procurement System.
To assist on the resolution of purchase order/ delivery/ invoice variances and disputes.
To contribute to the delivery of highly effective, compliant and customer focussed supply chain services, which meets the Trusts procurement and materials management requirements, including the Cost Improvement Plan (CIP).

Material Management Duties
Ensure effective delivery of medical and non-medical consumables to wards and departments allocated by the material management supervisor and co-ordinating the requirements of these activities with allocated departments to ensure that these meet the customer expectations.
Provide full materials management service to allocated patient clinical areas. This will include scanning, moving of goods on arrival, unpacking and checking of delivery and put away, ensuring stock rotation and no disruption to service.
Financial responsibility
Comply with all statutory regulations, procedures, standing orders and divisional policies generally as directed.
Ensure adherence to Trust Policies/Guidelines and SFIs to at all times when placing requisitions.
Development
Ensure a good working relationships and a teamworking approach.
Recognise how own tasks align with the procurement plan and strategic goals.
