Pharmacy Support Worker - Stores & Distribution

Band 2 £24,465 per annum pro rata
Part-time 22.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Pharmacy Support Worker, to join the Stores and Distribution team at MKUH. Are you a motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of a team? If so, now is your chance to contribute your skills and knowledge to Milton Keynes University Hospital.
This post will involve picking, packing and receipting of orders, stock rotation and ward supply including extended services. Working as part of a team the role will involve lifting and moving of heavy items with appropriate training. Weekend & Bank Holiday working as part of a roster.

Main duties of the job
- To perform, under supervision, all types of pharmaceutical work appropriate to the level of knowledge and experience, to participate in the provision of pharmaceutical services to our patients and staff.
- To provide accurate, efficient, and high-quality supply service to the trust and external customers ensuring the continued quality of products, maintaining the standards required for wholesale supply, as required by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority.

Job responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Stock shelves in the Inpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient Pharmacy, and any other required location ensuring that stock is kept clean, tidy, in the correct place and used in order FEFO (first expiry first out).
- Carry out regular stock checks of medicines stored within these areas reporting any discrepancies to the Procurement Pharmacy Technician.
Professional responsibilities:
- Tocooperate with managers to ensure the Pharmacy department is compliant with relevant statutory and professional standards on Health & Safety, COSHH, Clinical Governance, and Medicines Management.
Wholesale specific activities if required:
- Performingquality inspections of all wholesale stock received and reporting any issues to the Responsible Person.
- Unpacking the wholesale stock into the designated wholesale area.
