Full-time & Fixed-term maternity cover available
Band 5: £29,970 - £36,483 per annum (if Part-time and Fixed-term per annum pro rata)
Hours: Various, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Cancer Service for an opportunity as a Registered General Nurse on ward 25 at MKUH both permanent & fixed-term roles available.
The team aspire to provide exceptional care for the public of Milton Keynes, as such we are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, proactive and motivated Registered Nurse to assist us to achieve our aspirations. Are you that nurse?
Youwill work alongside the current senior structure within the Cancer Centre, collaborating to ensure the provision of high quality, visible, professional leadership, setting and maintaining standards of clinical excellence, improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families & carers within the Haematology service.Experience & understanding caring for patients with cancer & a nationally recognised Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy course is desirable.
We passionately believe in holistic care, with a newly established wellbeing team to enhance the recovery package for patients living with & beyond cancer. We have Citizen Advice Bureau onsite and offer a wide range of carers & patient support groups.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model for the Team other professionals and students.
- To support and deputise in the absence of the Senior and or Junior Sister. To ensure that resources are used effectively and the day-to-day management of a co-ordinated department.
Opportunities to develop both clinical & managerial skills & for further study.

The post holder will work on service development and governance to ensure the Ward maintains high national and peer review standards. This rapidly expanding modern and busy centre offers many training opportunities for their staff, recent developments have led to the opening of our cancer centre in February 2020. A forward thinking & supportive Management Team, Nurse Practitioners, Palliative Care Team & Macmillan Information and Support Centre support this developing service.
Professional:
- To demonstrate continuous development of professional skills and knowledge.
- To comply with all hospital policies and to practice within NMC standards and guidelines.
Management & Clinical:
- To be aware of the Trusts Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
- To assess, plan and implement care for allocated patients

- To act as mentor/assessor to student nurses and adaptation students.
