Job summary
Applications are invited to apply for a Clinical Fellow (ST3+) / Medical Training Initiative (MTI) role with an interest in Respiratory Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is 18 month Fixed term contract, under the Medical Training Initiative Scheme.
As a Medical Training Initiative post, please note only applicants without GMC registration are eligible to apply for this role.
The post holder will be contracted as a Clinical Fellow / Medical Training Initiative (MTI) role with an interest in Respiratory Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Candidates must meet all eligibility criteria for the Royal Collage Medical Training Initiative prior to application.
Main duties of the job
Clinical work
The successful candidate will be responsible to work under the supervision of the Respiratory Consultants. He/she will be expected to participate in most of the day-to-day activities of the department in cooperation with the rest of the medical staff.
To provide outpatient Respiratory clinics seeing both new and follow up patients, ensuring all patients have an appropriate treatment plan. This includes completing relevant administrative duties.
To provide non-elective inpatient care including assessments and reviews of patients on the Respiratory wards to who present to Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT.
The post holder will support with Bronchoscopy and EBUS lists.
Attendance at specialist MDTs.
Other commitments, by arrangement tailored to an individual's training requirements, to make up the 40 core hours
Provide Respiratory support via ward referrals and consults to patients requiring Respiratory inpatient input across MKUH.

- oprovide Evidence of at least three years within the last five years Respiratory training outside of the UK and European Union
- oprovide evidence of a postgraduate qualification acceptable to the College;

- othe candidate or institution should be able to provide the Royal Collage with a curriculum covering the training leading to the qualification
- othe qualification must be recognised by a university or health authority in the country of origin
- othe candidate must have completed the qualification and produce a certificate from relevant authority
- oif a qualification has more than one part, the candidate must have successfully completed all parts
- oif the parent country recognises first part as a separate qualification in its own right, the qualification may be acceptable provided the curriculum is acceptable and the minimum duration of training leading to that qualification is two years
- othe Royal College has the final authority to decide on the acceptability of any overseas qualification after due consideration

- oBroad experience in General Medicine to provide effective and safe management of outpatients and inpatients
- oHave three years of post-qualification experience, including one year's internship and at least one year in the specialty in which you intend to train while in the UK
