Estates Maintenance Assistant /Driver (10% R&R)

Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.
Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) are excited to announce that we have recently had a business case approved to expand our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) cardiology and respiratory services. We are currently recruiting a number of roles, from Chief Physiologist to Driver, within the Medicine division and Estates department.
Do you hold a valid UK driving license and have experience in general maintenance within Estates? We are looking for multiple Maintenance Assistants within MKUH for substantive positions and Bank only positions.
For Bank only positions, you will be driving between our three sites: Lloyds Court, Milton Keynes Hospital and Whitehouse Park.
The successful candidates will be experienced in general building maintenance across a broad range of buildings, plant and equipment including areas such as Flooring, Domestic Appliances, Building Maintenance and other Building Services. The role will also include being part of a rota for making deliveries to other sites within Milton Keynes on Trust business.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to adhere to our Trust values being collaborative between the different sites and be caring towards staff and patients at all times.
To carry out efficient and effective maintenance on Trust buildings, plant and equipment within the scope of the role.
To assist other staff as required, including Grounds Staff during seasonal peak times. Driving to other location in Milton Keynes to outreach buildings.

Job responsibilities
At all times to carry Trust communication devices (Eg. Two-way radios, tablet device) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.
To liaise with Works Management regarding plant equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary
To work in accordance with the requirements of the Trust on low pressure water systems performing various tasks.
To carry out Grounds & Garden duties during seasonal peak times.
To assist the maintenance craftsman in minor works of other trades in the engineering department, adopting a flexible and adaptable role in that context
To carry out basic maintenance and cleaning duties of various electrical and mechanical plant in particular lamp replacement, light cleaning, grilles and diffuser cleaning of ventilation systems
Unblocking toilets and drains.
Driving to outreach building to carry out repairs and delivers.
