Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time hours will be considered for the right applicant), all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
The Medical School team have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Block Administrator for 37.5 hours per week to join them. We are looking for a competent and enthusiastic administrator, with a track record of high-quality attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and as part of the team. Previous experience of working in the NHS is essential. You will need to be competent in MS IT packages.

Main duties of the job
To support the Director of Medical Education/Associate Director of Clinical Studies UBMS/Deputy Phase 2 Lead and the Medical Education Manager in the creation and administration of clinical placements for undergraduate medical students from the University of Buckingham Medical School (UBMS), in the arranging of teaching which is required by the Buckingham Medical School curricula or requested by undergraduate medical students, in the pastoral care of all undergraduate medical students during their time with Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Job responsibilities
To assist with the planning and organisation of UBMS undergraduate medical students clinical placements and to draw up timetables and/or a programme of placements.
To assist in identifying and negotiating with doctors, nurses and other hospital staff to arrange formal and bedside teaching sessions, which are required for UBMS medical students.
To help organise the booking and arranging of rooms and for setting up equipment.
To administer and monitor the evaluation processes for such teaching.
To provide pastoral support to students as and when required.
To assist with the induction of Phase 2 students. To make contact with each student prior to the start of their Phase 2 clinical placements at the hospital in order to communicate necessary information on travel, arrival time for the induction, and to request necessary documents for ID badges and Smartcards.
To assist students to adhere to Trust policies and guidelines.
To assist with formative and summative assessments as required.
To work closely with the Quality Support Officer for UBMS medical students keeping them updated on all student matters, especially concerns, problems or complaints, any clinical or non-clinical incidents, any requests for teaching, and matters relating to the wellbeing of students.
To liaise with the Medical School regarding clinical placements, assessments and the number of students involved.
To be available when required to attend Medical School meetings for instruction and feedback in order to be fully conversant with all requirements for their students and to keep abreast of any changes.
