Sister/Charge Nurse
Ward 16
Band 6 - £35,392 - £42,618 Per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Hours - Up to 37.5 per week. All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Female Respiratory ward. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, motivated and professional Junior sister/charge nurse. You must be keen to learn and will be supported and developed to ensure that you have the skills and competencies to look after our most unwell level 2 patients. You will also be supported to develop your own management style, working alongside the ward manager.
The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills. A previous teaching/mentorship course. A background in Respiratory medicine is desirable but not essential. All Band 6 nurses are required to participate in internal rotation to ensure senior leadership over the 24 hour period.

Main duties of the job
To provide effective, professional and managerial leadership to staff.
- To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care.
- To supervise and develop the knowledge and skills of junior staff.
- To initiate/facilitate developments in nursing practice in partnership with the ward manager.
- To be the ward representative when the ward manager is unavailable.
