Community Dietitian

Department of Nutrition & Dietetics

Band 5

Hours: up to 22.5 hours / week - fixed term contract / secondment for 12 months.

Once trained, some working from home will be possible each month.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a registered Dietitian to join our friendly, proactive community dietetic team based at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

This post will be a good opportunity to practice all you have learnt, to develop your knowledge and skills.

You will have the opportunity to see patients in their own homes, cover nursing homes and community hospitals, working with specialist dietitians.

We will provide supervision and mentoring with experienced community dietitians.

Additional support will be available through the Trust's interdisciplinary preceptorship programme, band 5 dietetic peer-support group and opportunities for CPD.

You should have excellent interpersonal and time management skills, with an ability to be flexible and have a strong commitment to teamwork. The successful candidate will work closely with community and acute colleagues to provide a holistic and patient-centred service.

You will be joining our wider team of over 30 registered dietitians, dietetic support workers and admin staff, covering acute, community, paediatric and learning disability services.

Main duties of the job

We have excellent secretarial and dietetic assistantsupport andtake students for clinical placements from the University of Surrey and Coventry University. On site accommodation is usually available.
