Senior Matron - Surgery

Band 8b £58,972 - £68,525 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

The Surgical division at MKUH provide exceptional care and creating a positive patient experience. We are currently seeking a visionary Senior Matron to lead our nursing department and continue our tradition of excellence in healthcare.

As the Senior Matron you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care within our facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff, developing strategies to enhance patient satisfaction, and upholding the highest quality standards in all aspects of nursing practice.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a team of dedicated nursing professionals.

Implement innovative strategies to improve patient experience, safety and workforce.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide top-tier patient care.

Drive continuous improvement in nursing practices and patient outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

A minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience as a Matron or leadership equivalent, preferably in a surgical setting.

A compassionate leader with a proven track record of enhancing patient experience and who can describe this in your supporting statement.

A strategic thinker who can articulate how they have positively impacted patient care and quality standards.

An innovative leader who can describe their transferrable skills that will support the division of surgery as senior Matron.

A master's degree in nursing is desirable or are on a Masters pathway which is essential to be considered for this post.
