Electrical Supervisor
Department: Estates
Band 6 £35,392 - £42,618 per annum plus R&R of 18% (6,370 - £7,671) plus considerable on-call earnings
Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
The Estates Maintenance Team encourage you to make an application if the following applies to you:
- A self-motivated and experienced Electrical Supervisor is required to join our busy Estates Department. You will have a proven track record of delivering estates maintenance using directly employed works staff and contractors across the broad range of electrical and mechanical disciplines within Estates.
- Appropriate scope of experience and a flexible can-do attitude to the broad remit of the role is required to succeed.
- A flexible attitude to an ever-changing work environment is needed to succeed in this challenging post working with an established and performing team of estates professionals.
- You will manage resources within the scope of the role.
- When not engaged in Supervisory duties, you may be required to carry out maintenance work across the site.
- You will have strong and effective leadership skills, be motivated and have the ability to motivate others and work well under pressure. You will be enthusiastic with the drive and vision to assist in improving the service provision.

Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the day-to-day provision of a responsive, flexible and effective estates Electrical maintenance service
- To be an expert in the maintenance and service of the electrical plant & systems and support the development and training of the employed Electricians to ensure in-house capability and expertise.
- To manage a team of Electricians, demonstrating good practice and leadership always, maintaining high service standards and driving continuous improvement.
- To maintain discipline within the staff in line with all Trust policies.

- Professional knowledge acquired through degree + specialist knowledge or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through courses & experience.
- IEE 18th Edition.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Driving Licence.
Desirable
- A sound knowledge of building materials and application across an Estate, obtained ideally in a hospital/medical environment.
Experience

- Computer literate - able to operate a computer.
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
