Lead Cancer Nurse -(Cancer Services)

Full-time 37.5 per week
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse with experience in leadership and the delivery of cancer care to a high standard. We would like to hear from candidates with who can demonstrate their passion and commitment to improving the cancer patient experience and holistic support throughout the patient's cancer treatment journey.
The Lead Cancer Nurse is the nursing leader responsible and accountable for advancing the quality, safety and experience of cancer care delivered at the Trust. We are looking for an inspirational candidate with an exemplary record of senior clinical professional leadership, and a proven record of improvement and innovation in the care and support of cancer patients. The Lead Cancer Nurse is an important corporate position. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cancer Services Team, all specialties providing cancer treatment or diagnostic services, commissioners, and patients to lead on the Trust strategic and operational plans for cancer services. The post holder will also link in with the East of England and TCVN Cancer Alliance.
Main duties of the job
The Lead nurse will provide leadership, support and direction for the organisation's cancer nurses, this includes being part of cancer services reviews to ensure that all services are able to provide the service required by the patients. The post holder will advocate for cancer nursing care, including the development of nursing roles in cancer care delivery, the development of nurse-led diagnostic and treatment pathways for cancer, and workforce development.
The Lead nurse will provide Clinical Leadership and guidance for the continued development of personalised care and a stratified follow-up agenda in line with Macmillan's organisational strategy in conjunction with National and Organisational strategies. They will provide guidance for clinical quality improvement through the use of a data-driven improvement programme.
Candidates will be encouraged to maintain some clinical practice to within the services and they will deputise for the Head of cancer services, they will become active members of the Hospital on-call silver rota for the out of hours senior management support.
