Job summary

The IT Department at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a dynamic, ever-developing, forward-thinking group of people that make up a team that strives to keep the Trust's systems up to date and responsive to cutting edge technologies, whilst ensuring staff at the Trust are supported to continue to deliver at the highest level.

We currently have an opening for an IT Integration Analyst to be a part of the Trust's small but critical integration team, focusing on delivering both a high quality and reliable business as usual system integration service, alongside ensuring new systems are fully integrated.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will have solid experience with integration languages (HL7 ADT, CDA, FHIR), development languages (preferably JavaScript, C#) and have experience working in a healthcare environment, including familiarity with Cerner Millennium.

We are open to applicants that have development experience but have not yet been within an integration role, however you should state clearly on your application how you can apply your previous learning and experience to the position

Qualifications and knowledge

Essential

  • Degree with OOP programming content (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience)
  • Strong knowledge in the transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications using the HL7 standard
  • Knowledge and experience of JavaScript
  • Knowledge of and experience in the implementation and management of an order comms messaging solutions environment in a NHS Hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the implementation and management of medical device integration solutions using a message exchange service (preferably Mirth)

Experience

  • Experience of working in a programming / development role using C# and JavaScript
  • Excellent understanding of current IT standards, capabilities and developments in SQL, OOP
  • Hands on expertise in a broad range of systems acquired through working experience or theory based learning
  • Experience working as part of development projects.
  • An excellent understanding of the HL7 standard
  • Conversant with all primary messaging types and messaging structures defined within the HL7 standard covering patient administration (ADT messages), orders (ORM messages) and results (ORU messages)
