Job summary

Are you an experienced and proactive individual looking for your next challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat) Department which supports both adults and children with hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our secretarial office and will act as a central point of contact for both patients and staff.

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in medical secretarial or similar administrative work
  • Friendly, approachable and confident working within a team
  • Highly organised with exceptional multi-tasking abilities
  • Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced outpatient environment
  • Skilled in using IT systems, with strong computer literacy

You'll be part of a supportive, welcoming, and collaborative team of Medical Secretaries who are passionate about providing high-quality administrative support to our ENT Services. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and make a meaningful contribution to patient care.

Main duties of the job

You'll provide full comprehensive medical support to the ENT Directorate, which includes:

  • Providing a central point of communication for patients and staff.
  • Audio typing, filing, scanning, photocopying and composition of letters. To provide fast and accurate copy and audio typing service to the department producing clinic letters and other documents.
  • Preparing and organising papers for meetings, attending, and taking notes as necessary.
  • Liaising with nurses, doctors and other members of the multi-disciplinary team including inpatient and outpatient booking teams to provide a quality service for patients.
  • To assist with the smooth running of consultant diaries and help organise meetings as appropriate
