Job summary
The purpose of this role is to provide a reception and clerical service for The Riverside Clinic which provides contraception and sexual health care. The role is varied with a combination of managing the reception area, taking calls and booking appointments. As well as supporting the clinical staff with administrative duties.
Main duties of the job
To provide a reception service to include:o Meeting and greeting all patients and visitors to the department in a friendly, sensitive and non-judgemental manner.o Making new and follow up appointments and rearranging as necessary both face-to-face and over the telephone.o Registering patients and inputting patients' details on computer.o Scanning documentso Giving appropriate clinic information to patients when attending appointments.o Confirming patient details are correct and updated as required.o Dealing with difficult patients at reception or on the telephone by adopting a calm and tactful manner.o Ensuring any complaints or compliments are documented appropriately and referred to the line manager.o Managing incoming post appropriately.o Liaising with offsite IT Technical Support in the event of a computer malfunction.o Informing patients of negative results if they phone requesting them.o Maintaining a clean and tidy reception area.o Updating telephone recorded messageso Checking and responding to emails that have come through on the Riverside Clinic shared email
