Clinical Fellow (ST4-7) in Uro-Gynaecology and Perinatal Pelvic Health

Job summary
This is a whole-time post for a Clinical Fellow (ST4-7) at the Royal United Hospital Bath. Specialist training will be provided in urogynaecology including specialist clinics (urogynaecology, continence and pessary), urogynaecology surgery both inpatient and ambulatory, perinatal pelvic floor clinics and multidisciplinary meetings alongside urology and colorectal specialists.
There will be a focus on gaining competencies in operative urogynaecology, urethral bulking and intravesical Botox, as well as working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
The successful applicant will work as a core member of our urogynaecology team and will be expected to manage patients under direct and indirect consultant supervision as they progress. They will be expected to lead on quality improvement projects within the service with consultant oversight.
Previous experience of working in the UK at registrar level is essential.
Main duties of the job
This post is designed for candidates with previous experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who wish to have further training in all aspects of urogynaecology and perinatal pelvic health. It provides a considerable package of training in clinical and operative urogynaecology. It will provide experience in managing complex cases with the support of our wide MDT (to include urology and colorectal specialists) They will benefit from regular supervised surgical lists, ambulatory urogynaecology and urogynaecology clinics with consultant oversight to improve learning.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the urogynaecology team.
Research interests are encouraged, and the successful candidate would be required to deliver quality improvement initiatives.
Doctors on the middle grade rota are contracted to cover each other during absence on annual and study leave. The middle grades are resident on-call. They are expected to take part in teaching midwives/nursing staff and junior medical staff.
There are regular departmental meetings and research links with the University of Bath, University of Exeter and through the Bath School of Postgraduate Medicine.The successful candidate will undertake resident on call ('1 in 16') covering obstetrics and gynaecology.
