An exciting opportunity for the newly created position of Dispensary Co-Ordinator within the Main Pharmacy Department is available, this position is open to both Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our Dispensary team. The post holder will support the Dispensary Manager to contribute to the delivery and development of a high quality, comprehensive Trustwide pharmacy dispensary service that is reliable, efficient and effective in meeting the needs of all wards, theatres and departments.
Candidates are required to have NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent plus accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent) OR equivalent experience and hold aNVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills.

Main duties of the job
Please see the main JD & PS for the main responsibilities, key aspects as as below:
To effectively monitor workload and manage pharmacy technicians and assistants to respond to demands within the dispensary as required.
In conjunction with area leads and other co-ordinators, support with rotas and allocation of staff on a daily basis.
To contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of new and improved pharmacy dispensary services.
Monitor turnaround times and workload status using in-house tracking system.
To dispense In-patient and discharge prescriptions in line with departmental SOP's ensuring that standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness are met. Working under the supervision of pharmacy technicians or pharmacists. Seeking advice on any complex prescriptions before dispensing.
To dispense controlled drugs (CD) to ensure that the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs Act (1970) GPhC standards and departmental SOPs' are met.Act as an
Act as a Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) or Accredited Checking Pharmacy Support Staff (ACPSS), carrying out the final checking of prescriptions.
Participate in lates rota, weekend and Bank Holiday working as may be required.
Attend the Trustwide site meetings to support flow within the hospital.
