Urology Booking Coordinator

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the Urology Administration team. You will be coordinating and booking a suite of appointments with the Urology service. You will manage clinic bookings, waiting lists and support the service to maintain RTT, diagnostic and Cancer performance targets.
We seek a motivated individual to work with members of admin, nursing and medical teams in the department to ensure that our patients are offered a prompt and compassionate service. The team is close-knit and you will be provided with training and ongoing support to succeed in this role.
Main duties of the job
To receive and make calls, in a professional and courteous manner.
To ensure that patients/caller needs are met.
To sensitively explain to patients when their appointment has been cancelled or postponed.
Demonstrate empathy with patients concerning complaints and escalating appropriately.
To provide general non-clinical advice regarding outpatient appointments to patients and their carers.
Answer telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages.
To ensure that patient referral information is entered accurately into the Trusts PAS system
Maintain accurate waiting lists, including to be scheduled list(s)
To maximise clinic utilisation.
To effectively manage relevant clinic templates
To manage booking process and ensure patients are advised of the correct appointment with reasonable notice.
To ensure patients receive all appropriate accurate and up to date information leaflets
To supply data for weekly performance meetings; identifying any potential issues with capacity
To expedite appointments - cancelling and re- booking as necessary to achieve targets - including the Cancer 2-week Wait target.
To cross-cover as required in event of absence of colleagues.
