Job summary

We have an opportunity to recruit a motivated, experienced, Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Theatre Nurse (RGN) to join RUH Theatres as a Team Leader in Robotics/Gynae/ General surgical scrub.

The Royal United Hospital has 16 operating Theatres covering a wide range of elective, trauma and emergency specialities. You will be joining a highly motivated team committed to treating patients undergoing operations in a safe and highly skilled environment.

Main duties of the job

In this role you would be expected to take responsibility for the safe and efficient running as Team leader on a daily basis within Robotics/ General Surgery and be first line manager for a team of staff. You should be familiar with working in a fast-paced environment that is changeable, depending on clinical priority.

You will be able to communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team and adopt a practical common sense approach to working, be able to work well under pressure, and you should have evidence of continued professional development.

The successful candidate will be rostered to coordinate Main Theatre Unit and Out Of Hours Theatres on rotation with your fellow Team Leaders. For this reason there is an expectation of working unsocial hours e.g. nights, late shifts and weekends and long days within this role.
