Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this role is to lead the effective management of the Initial Education and Training (IET) for Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants, maintaining oversight of the extended roles within technical staffing groups, including ACPT, Educational Supervisor status, leadership and management and Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician (MOPT) accreditations and other professional development opportunities.
You will be responsible for the provision of an effective Education, Training and Development strategy for the technical workforce, including training time frames and achievement of competence in all areas of pharmacy practice.
You will be the direct line manager for pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs), including cross sector employees as the BSW Lead, responsible for their funding, resource, activity, information and selection of training provider.
You'll provide effective support to facilitate the development of the roles of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants, including bespoke training sessions for Continued Professional Development (CPD).
You will work with the Lead Technician for Operations and Lead Pharmacist - Workforce whilst ensuring monthly updates are provided to the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team in relation to all Education, Training, Learning and Development activity.
You'll support the department seniors in the facilitation of inductions for all staff, ensuring induction and competence are demonstrated within a reasonable time frame, strengtheningthe Educational and Development specialism within the Pharmacy Department.
