Job summary
This post is a great opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to develop their clinical and skills working with a varied caseload of children and young people in outpatient and community settings. This post is open to applicants either with proven Children`s Occupational Therapy experience at Band 5 level ready for the challenge of a Band 6 post, or to the right applicant to join the team at Band 5 and to progress, when competent, to Band 6.

The Children`s Therapies team is based in the Children`s Centre at the Royal United Hospitals Bath with great resources and a friendly, experienced team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to support your development. Please note as this is a community post , a car driver with access to your own vehicle is essential. The department are not able to sponsor applicants from overseas.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder provides a high standard specialist community based Occupational Therapy service, working alone in a variety of community settings
2. To manage a complex and highly specialised caseload of children with a range of complex needs, within a defined geographical area, providing quality Occupational Therapy and effective case management.
3. Using evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and contribute to the diagnostic process.
4. To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area, holding responsibility for defined projects. .
5. To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements and undertake supervision of other Occupational Therapy staff.
6. To participate in and teach on the department's in-service training programme as well as external training to other groups.
