Job summary

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong assessment skills and an interest in Stroke?

We currently have a full-time post on the Acute stroke unit working within the MDT to provide excellent specialist care.

You will be part of the RUH's progressive and friendly integrated therapies department, where there is a culture of promoting learning and staff and service development.

Main duties of the job

To hold responsibility for own case load and provide a high standard therapy service to patients on the Acute Stroke Unit with a focus on assessment, early rehab and timely discharge to appropriate stroke pathways.

To carry out and interpret specialist assessments including standardised cognitive and visual assessements applying sound clinical reasoning and problem solving skills.

To support and supervise band 5s, therapy support workers and students as a key member of our therapy team.

  • Diploma/degree in occupational therapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Evidence of regular and relevant CPD activities

Desirable

  • Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must be able to demonstrate development of specialist stroke knowledge
