Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Personalised Care and Support Team based in the new Macmillan Wellbeing Hub, which is part of the Dyson Cancer Centre.

This role will greet visitors to the Macmillan Wellbeing Hub, providing initial support and guide to appropriate support services or information. Administration experience and excellent communication skills will be essential to coordinate services provided within the Macmillan Wellbeing Hub.

Main duties of the job

  • Meet with visitors to the Hub (patients, carers, relatives and health care professionals) and guide to relevant service within Hub. Providing low level support with consideration of service users' information and support needs, provision of verbal and written information, supportive listening and action planning.

    Develop a system for, and manage the organisation of stock with the service, monitoring stock levels and ordering new/replacement stock items

    Assist in the organisation of Health and Wellbeing Events that may be pre or post treatment for patients.

    Manage the diary for bookable areas within the Hub and schedule appointments/events accordingly.

    Support the Manager and Cancer Support Team with the day-to-day running of the Hub and support clinical teams when required by providing information and responding to queries.

    Provide administrative support to the team. This will include telephone and email enquiries, data inputting for Macmillan Cancer Support and personalised care & support including Holistic Needs Assessments, assist with relevant audits of this data.

    Communicate sensitively and compassionately in situations with visitors who may be very distressed.

    Contribute to the continued improvement and development of the service, identifying areas for change and develop a trust wide inclusive patient service, including digital inclusion.
