Job summary
To be the focus for the secretarial, administrative and clerical services supporting patient activity in the department. To monitor patient pathways in accordance with Government Access Targets and the Trust's Patient Access Policy. To provide support in the operational activity across the specialty for RTT. To be responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of a number of administrative staff within the department, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Main duties of the job
- Ensuring an appropriate level of Administrational support is maintained at all times by coordinating and monitoring requests for leave etc. Keeping an accurate record of sick and annual leave taken by administrative staff within the department
- Carrying out the day to day supervision of Admin team across the specialty
- Undertaking staff appraisal to identify development and training needs. Liaising with the Senior Specialty Manager for advice and provision of appropriate training and development opportunities
- Taking part in recruitment, selection and induction of administrative staff
- Identifying and dealing with performance management issues, i.e. conduct, performance, sickness / ill health etc. in line with Trust procedures
- Taking responsibility for the maintenance of equipment and the ordering and controlling of stationery used by the administrative staff across the department, liaising with appropriate companies/ departments for repair / replacement.
- Providing support and ensuring staff receive appropriate training.
