Job summary
The RUH Emergency Department has an excellent opportunity for the placement of an Administration Manager. No two days within the Emergency Department are ever the same and we are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic individual to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will be able to provide effective management of the administration teams whilst supporting exciting project work alongside the multidisciplinary teams.
We are looking for an individual with experience of work procedures and practices gained in HR, operational administration or medical education. Previous NHS/Healthcare experience will be an advantage. You will require competent communication skills, be computer literate using MS packages and have previous experience of creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
The role is a permanent, 5 day per week, office hour's position. It will necessitate the full spectrum of management across the Emergency Department Administrative Teams & MAU secretaries' administrative services. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, diligent attention to detail and a dynamic approach to problem solving in order to maximise performance. The role will suit someone looking to develop their knowledge of key NHS performance targets and service improvement skills.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a full and comprehensive administration service for the Emergency Department services, including line management and budget responsibilities.
- Provide administrative support to projects taking place within the Emergency Department.
- Review and optimise the admin structure and processes in the Emergency Department and MAU secretaries to support key performance measures and comply with National and Trust targets.
- Ensure all staff are working towards the delivery of high quality care to patients.
- Ensure all staff are working to deadlines that contribute to national standards and patient experience measures for the service.
