Job summary
The Dermatology Department at the Royal United Hospital in Bath are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Consultant to join their experienced team.
This 10 PA post in Dermatology will be based at the Royal United Hospital and will support the further development of the Dermatology services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and visionary department, and have an opportunity to participate in the continuing development and success of the service.
The post holder should have an interest in providing general medical dermatology services, skin cancer services and tele dermatology.
Main duties of the job
As well as covering general Dermatology, specialist services at the RUH include see and treat skin cancer clinics, paediatrics - eczema and general, Vulval, joint clinics with Rheumatology, biologics, immune clinics, tele dermatology and a monthly combined clinic for complex patients.
The appointee will be expected to see a proportionate share of emergency GP and ward referrals between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and per job plan.
The holder of this post will be a 1.0wte Consultant Dermatologist, and will be expected to contribute to the core activities - general dermatology to include acute medical dermatology for inpatients of all ages including children, skin cancer, skin surgery and tele dermatology. The post holder will be encouraged and supported in developing their specialist interest.
Flexibility to undertake clinics in different formats will be expected (tele dermatology, face to face, surgical lists, telephone and video consultations and remotely held joint clinics). There is flexibility to work some of this activity remotely from home, especially for SPA and admin time.
An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.
The post holder will be expected to cover urgent clinical administrative duties and emergency ward cover for colleagues when absent or on leave.
