Job summary
We are looking for a reliable, flexible, enthusiastic person to join our team of Technicians in Sterile Services.
The Sterile Services Department provides an essential service within the hospital by disinfecting, sterilising and maintaining surgical instrumentation for operating theatres, wards, community hospitals, clinics and GP practices in the region.
Full time or Part time roles are available (please specify your preference on application)
Full time 37.5 hrs per week - 06:00-14:00 Monday to Friday or
Full time 37.5 hrs per week - 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday or
Part-time 15 hrs per week - 08:00-16:00 Weekends or
Part-time 15 hrs per week - 14:00-22:00 Weekends
Main duties of the job
As a Decontamination Technician, you will be responsible for a wide variety of equipment- from simple instruments, like scissors, to very complex equipment- such as flexible endoscopes.
This is a varied and interesting role in a friendly team.
No formal qualifications are needed but you will be someone who enjoys hands-on work: standing and performing manual handling.
You need to be:o Happy to work in a busy departmento Keen to take on training (e-learning, classroom and 1:1 coaching) to learn the roleo Able to follow procedures to make sure that equipment is cleaned to the specific standard neededo Able to keep up-to-date recordso Available to take on hours during the week for training and to help cover the service when needed.
