Job summary
To provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Emergency Department and all of the Departments Clinical Leads. Working alongside the Emergency Department's Secretaries, the post holder will provide an administrative support service to the Urgent Care Lead Nurse & all Clinical Leads, as well as other health care professionals within the Emergency Department to ensure service objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.
The post holder works with the Admin Team and must show high standards of professionalism. The post holder also acts as Ambassador for the department and works closely with external organisations and other Health Care Providers.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the Urgent Care Lead Nurse & all Clinical Leads in all matters arising in the Emergency Department & Urgent Treatment Centr
- Assist the Urgent Care Lead Nurse & all Clinical Leads in complaints management, ensuring response reaches the relevant individual (e.g Complaints & Litigation Manager) within the Trust's set timescales.
- Act as the first point of contact for any Admin queries for the Department, demonstrating problem solving skills, common sense, good communication skills and empathy. To work under pressure and with varying workload.
- To provide administrative support to the Departments; Matron, Consultants, Doctors, Managers and Nurses. Support including preparing responses and typing on behalf of the Management team. Also secretarial and administrative support including preparing responses and typing of general letters, X-ray letters, communication briefings, presentations, news bulletins, spreadsheets, flowcharts, file notes and any other documents required at short notice.
