An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our department as a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist in Rheumatology.
The successful applicant will need excellent communication skills and will need to demonstrate suitable knowledge and experience in Rheumatology, Hand Therapy/Musculoskeletal, and/or Pain Management specialties, enabling them to work autonomously at a high level, supporting the delivery of our specialist service.
The department has a positive approach to continuing professional development and there is an active in-service training and supervision programme, to help successful candidates prepare for, and excel within their role as clinicians and leaders.
This role includes some non-clinical responsibilities and opportunities. These include the support and teaching of Band 5 therapists, students and therapy assistants, providing opportunity to develop and demonstrate your leadership skills, as well as opportunities to lead projects within our department.
Main duties of the job
To work as an occupational therapist, as part of the wider Rheumatology Therapies team based at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
This service is part of the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases. Clinical responsibilities include holding a mixed Rheumatology outpatient caseload, covering inflammatory and non-inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders and fibromyalgia. Supporting an Axial Spondyloarthropathies residential group programme and delivering group based outpatient programmes is also a core part of the role.
There is a requirement to participate in weekend working within this clinical area.
