Job summary
The Trust is committed to supporting clinicians in developing and improving patient services and is seeking to recruit a full time Quality Assurance Officer to join the Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit Team. You will be responsible for providing clinical audit support and advice, working with clinical teams in actively delivering quality improvements through the clinical audit process.
This is a varied role and you will be part of the wider Quality Improvement Centre Team based in the Quality Improvement Centre. The Quality Improvement Centre includes both clinical and non-clinical staff working in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, clinical audit and patient experience.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for managing a programme of national audits, as identified within the Trust's Annual Clinical Audit Programme. This will include monitoring that the organisation and divisions participate in relevant national clinical audits, ensuring that deadlines for submission of national audit data are met and actions are put in place to address any concerns or shortfalls identified through these audits. The post holder will also manage participation in NCEPOD studies and provide support to the Clinical Guidance Implementation Manager for managing NICE guidance requirements.
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting other key quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as required such as the EXcEL Ward and Outpatient Accreditation Programme and work programmes that provide assurance against the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory requirements.
