Job summary

Aseptics are a team within our Pharmacy department who are responsible for supporting the Trust with making medicines such as Chemotherapy and Radiopharmaceuticals, made in a highly sterile environment, which we give to our patients. You would be at the forefront of a service which supports our patients when they are at their most vulnerable - helping to save lives by making treatments.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed pharmacy technician OR experienced aseptic services assistant / operator who is ambitious and committed individual to join our current team working in our new pharmacy, complete with brand new aseptic suite for preparing chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies and radiopharmaceuticals. Duties will include some electronic data input, assembling and preparation of pharmaceutical products such as chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies and assisting in the daily running of the Aseptic Services Unit, including decontamination in line with strict procedures, microbiology sampling and preparation of products dispensed in a clean-room environment.
As the successful candidate, you will be required to demonstrate good organisational, time management and problem-solving skills to a consistently high standard in combination with a flexible and forward-thinking approach. A good working knowledge of Aseptic Services is essential. In addition you must have excellent communication skills.

Either NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services or equivalent nationally recognised qualification OR training and experience working within an aseptic services or production unit to an equivalent level
