Job summary

Excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR practitioner to take on the role of Deputy HR Business Partner to the Family and Specialist Services and Corporate Services Divisions at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful post holder will be key in providing dedicated HR support to designated areas within the organisation ensuring the provision of high quality operational support as well as the delivery of organisational change programmes across the Trust.

You will work flexibly, in line with the overall needs of the operational HR team. This is a busy, dynamic role with excellent support from the HR Business Partner and the overall HR Operational team. We all pride ourselves on providing a professional, pro-active and person-centered HR service, in line with the Restorative Just Learning Culture principles.

You will hold the post-graduate level 7 CIPD qualification (or be working towards it) and have significant operational experience that includes managing organisational change programmes alongside employee relations cases through to dismissal. Experience of coaching and developing managers in effective people management is essential as is highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality advice on all HR issues in specified areas, and working with the relevant HR Business Partner/HR Manager, ensuring there is the best people management practice, including workforce management and development and employee relations in all designated areas.
  • With the HR Business partner to be a key member of the divisional management team, acting as an effective "business partner" providing high quality advice and challenge to influence improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and competiveness of the Division and coaching managers to improve their leadership and people management skills.
  • To work on specific delegated corporate HR projects in line with the HR Directorate business plan.
  • To act as a role model within the HR team and for the team both within the trust and externally, demonstrating the trust values at all times. To develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation including at the senior level.
  • To undertake education and development responsibilities including the support of the delivery of management development courses and general induction.
