Midwife - Band 5 and 6
The closing date is 28 May 2025
Job summary
We have vacancies for either Band 5 Preceptorship Midwives or Band 6 Midwives to come and join our team.
As a District General Hospital, we are searching for committed, dynamic and enthusiastic midwives to join our team. We want you to shape our vision for an outstanding service that gives our women, families within our community and our midwives an extraordinary and personal experience.
You will join a warm and supportive team of midwives who truly care about the experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. We value your experience working alongside us and acknowledge that fulfilled midwives put the women at the centre of their work. We want to build on our service to promote continuity and increase midwife led births in line with 'Better Births'. We want women to explore opportunities the midwives to guide and support along this exciting journey with passion and creativity.
We want midwives to love working with us and the families we serve.
Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate for this position, you will have an important role within the maternity team to implement and carry out Continuity of Care in line with the National agenda. You will work closely with the continuity team with the aim of achieving full Continuity of Care for our service users.
You will be responsible as an autonomous practitioner, for providing individualised and personalised midwifery care packages, whilst using specialist knowledge to continually assess, analyse and determine the appropriate course of action for a designated client group.
You will be expected to provide high quality evidence-based midwifery care and advice antenatally, intrapartum and postnatally, in a variety of setting including hospital, community HUBS and home.
About us
There's never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We're working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we've ever undertaken.
Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.
We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as 'Good', and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.
We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome.
We love working here and think you will too.
