Job summary
We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist wishing to take their next steps on the career ladder and looking for a new challenge. The individual needs to be proactive and enthusiastic and will be joining the Acute Medical Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Ideally they should have acute hospital experience and will be joining our dynamic therapy team on the Medical wards. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients who will present with many complex needs throughout their acute hospital stay. You will be actively involved in the development of the discharge to assess model in West Norfolk alongside two very experienced band 7 OT's within the team.
Main duties of the job
As a member of both the integrated rehabilitation service and the multidisciplinary teams on the wards, excellent skills in communication are essential.
As a Band 6 therapist you will be supporting and developing rotational Band 5 therapists. The role also involves supervising therapy support staff and educating therapy students on placement.
There will be opportunities for innovation and an expectation that you will be actively involved in relevant quality improvement projects to develop the Acute Medicine team.
Our friendly Rehabilitation Service offers support through regular supervision, appraisal, training and development opportunities.
You will be expected to contribute to the weekend rota.
