Job summary
We're recruiting a Head of Digital to lead the development and delivery of all aspects of the Trust's digital functions.
This is an exciting time to be joining Team QEH - as we continue our journey of improvement, which has digital transformation at the very core.
Lead the Digital strategy to support the Trust's corporate strategic goals and to be sufficiently well versed in those objectives to be able to contribute to them.
To represent the Trust externally on matters relating to Digital, establishing confidence and respect both personally and for the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Digital's responsibilities span the following areas:
The Digital team includes several services such as Information Communication & Technology (ICT), Cyber Security, Digital Development and ICT Projects.
To provide Digital strategic and operational leadership to the Trust.
To provide leadership to the Digital Department ensuring the effective, efficient, robust provision and management of IT services and resourcing to the Trust.
To ensure the technical infrastructure of the Trust is appropriately managed and developed to meet organisational demands, national standards and best practice technologies.
To ensure Digital capital and revenue expenditure is managed within budget and in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
To ensure the Trust has robust, comprehensive and fully tested business continuity plans.
To ensure that the delivery of the Trust's business needs, infrastructure, desktop services and operational applications meet agreed performance standards.
About us
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is West Norfolk has a superb unspoilt coastline with pretty villages, all with their own individual charm. The medieval port of King's Lynn has some very interesting architecture.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We work in partnership with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services.
In February 2022 the QEH the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).

- Extensive relevant experience in health service or other major large-scale customer service-oriented organisation with proven experience in the delivery of an IT service across large complex multi-organisation structure.
- Significant experience at senior management level to include substantial proven experience of managing multiple workloads within timescales
- People management experience with evidence of leading through change
- Significant departmental budget management and financial responsibilities
- Significant experience working in the IT industry as a technical specialist at a strategic management level.
- Contract and Supplier management

- Experience of NHS structures and systems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft licensing models to include end user device level Enterprise Agreements (EA). Server Cloud Enrolment (SCE) to include SQL and SharePoint server.
