We are looking for enthusiastic Radiologists to join ourteam andwe would be interested in candidates with experience ofthe Clinical Lead role. We are a friendly and cohesive department with a range of specialist interests, committed to working together to the benefit of the patients and department, with very short turnaround times and short waiting times.We are an innovative group of Consultants always looking to expand and develop services.
You will be expected to undertake general radiology duties but we welcome and encourage the development of specialist interests.
Main duties of the job
The appointed consultant would be expected to contribute to the on-going service improvement programme developing:
- Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)
- Cost Improvement programme (CIP)
- Implementing evidence based new ways of working when necessary

The post will be flexible to some degree based on workload and activity across the departments. The post-holder is expected to support the training of the SpRs and respond to changes in demand of both inpatient and outpatient work. Although this post is for a full-time position, part-time, flexible working and part time home working are options that can be considered. However, the clinical service on-site demands will always remain the main priority.
The post will have components of general radiology, including plain film reporting, CT, Ultrasound and MRI. Each department undertakes a range of interventional image-guided procedures including non-vascular interventions including CT and US guided biopsies, and drainages of abscesses. The successful candidate will be welcome to participate in these.
In addition, it is hoped that the successful candidate will be able to offer sub-specialist experience in particular; GI/Colorectal; Gynaecological radiology; chest/cardiac radiology, Paediatric radiology, nuclear medicine. The Trust is able to consider any other sub-specialist interest.
The job plan will be agreed with the successful candidate and will be offered minimum of 10 PAs.
This appointment will be to the current consultant contract and includes a commitment to the on call roster (currently 1:8). The Radiology Department works a 7-day week with on-site consultant Radiologist cover 0800-2000 weekdays and 0900-1700 weekends. Outside these hours, on-call CT is outsourced.
