An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and flexible nurse to join our small team of specialist ophthalmic nurses.
Based in the paediatric ophthalmic outpatient department at Sheffield Children's Hospital, the role also includes supporting ophthalmology clinics at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Ophthalmology is a rewarding and dynamic specialty with strong links to inpatient services, the emergency department, and acute admissions.
We are seeking a nurse with excellent communication skills, particularly with children and families, who is eager to develop specialist knowledge and deliver high-quality care in a supportive environment.
About You
- Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse (RNChild or RSCN)
- Current registration with NMC
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Ward Dept Manager, some of your responsibilities will include

Provide skilled, autonomous nursing care in line with the NMC Code of Conduct

Support the ongoing development of nursing practice, including supervising junior nurses and support staff

Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and voices are heard

Plan, deliver, and evaluate care for an allocated patient group, using prioritisation and delegation effectively
