Our diverse team of Doctors, Nurses, Dietitians, Psychologists, and Family Support Workers provides integrated, family-centred care for young people managing health issues related to excess weight.

We are looking for a Healthcare Service Co-ordinator to join the team. You will coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of the service, ensuring seamless care delivery across multiple sites and facilitating communication between families, healthcare professionals, and external partners.

About You:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C/9-4) or equivalent, or Level 4 qualification/experience.

  • Experience coordinating services and working in an administrative support role.

  • Experience of data collection, entry, and generating reports using database systems.

Join us in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children and families across South Yorkshire. Apply today to be part of our team!

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Operational Manager (Medicine), your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinate patient care within the specialty, managing administration, database, and treatment scheduling to support the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

  • Ensure appointments and tests align with clinical plans and maintain accurate records of treatment schedules and medications.

  • Be the first contact for patients, families, and professionals, relaying messages and facilitating communication with healthcare teams.

  • Communicate with clinical areas, external bodies (e.g., GPs, SHINE), and patients to ensure seamless care and service coordination.

  • Maintain accurate patient and investigation data for clinical audits.

  • Support the MDT with new initiatives, data analysis, and audits to improve services and patient outcomes.

About us

At Sheffield Children's, our purpose is clear: to provide healthier futures for children and young people. Our three strategic aims are Outstanding Patient Care, Brilliant Place to Work, and Leaders in Children's Health.

We work with partners across local, regional, and national levels to deliver physical and mental healthcare in both acute and community settings. Many of our clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise.

We're proud that 73% of colleagues would recommend Sheffield Children's as a place to work, placing us among the top five NHS trusts in England -- and the top-ranked trust in the North East and Yorkshire -- in the latest NHS Staff Survey.

Our nearly 4,000 colleagues bring our CARE values -- Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence -- to life every day, creating a kind, welcoming environment where patients and families feel safe and supported.

As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2026, we're excited to keep building our leadership in children's health, improve experiences for patients and staff, and focus on our communities and population health.

We also offer excellent benefits to support your wellbeing, with generous annual leave and pension schemes, health and wellbeing programmes, and exclusive discounts -- helping you thrive at work and beyond.
