Join our dynamic Clinical Governance team dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safe, kind, and outstanding care across the Trust. As an important contributor to Patient Safety, you will author patient safety training, support investigations, and work with teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise will help shape policies, deliver training, and support executive decision-making in patient safety.

About You: You bring excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex qualitative information. With report writing and policy development experience, you understand NHS governance and patient safety frameworks. Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant experience, you excel in collaborative environments and are passionate about improving patient outcomes through effective governance.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Patient Safety Manager, you will:

  • Support Patient Safety Investigations, including writing reports, managing administration, and gathering evidence.

  • Maintain the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response Plan.

  • Help coordinate Trustwide 'Safety Wednesday' meetings to promote patient safety awareness.

  • Provide leadership and assistance with the implementation of patient safety initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Patient Safety Specialist to develop and deliver training, including producing supporting materials.

  • Update training programmes to ensure compliance with policies, best practices, and legislation.

  • Contribute to the development of patient safety policies aligned with national standards and CQC requirements.

  • Provide specialist support to clinical teams and quality management in delivering a Trust-wide approach to governance and patient safety.
