We are looking for someone to join our team at Emerald Lodge, where you will provide clinical leadership and supervision within an inpatient setting.

We are dedicated to ongoing development and providing high-quality care for young people and families. We offer assessment, collaborative care, and treatment for young people facing mental health challenges, including low mood, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, autistic spectrum conditions, self-harm risks, and diagnostic uncertainty.

About You: We value someone who is compassionate and committed to helping young people and their families. You will also bring to the role:

  • Registered RMN/RNLD

  • Experience in the mental health field, with an understanding of mental health conditions, interventions and risk management strategies

  • Empathy, able to adapt communication style to individual need

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Lodge Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide skilled nursing care, observing NMC Code of Conduct.

  • Supervise and help develop junior nurses and staff.

  • Advocate for patients.

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care for an allocated patient group, using prioritisation and delegation.

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure care delivery for Trust patients.

  • Support and deputise for the Lodge Manager

  • Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse (RMN/RNLD)
  • Teaching, Mentoring and Assessors qualification
  • Current registration with NMC
  • Relevant post registration qualification as required for speciality i.e family therapy, CBT, parenting courses.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional development.

Desirable

  • Relevant Post Basic Registration Course Leadership and Management training

Experience

  • Substantial experience within mental health/learning disability
  • Mentoring experience with nursing students and training/development teaching of junior colleagues

Knowledge & Skills
