Job summary
Fixed Term: 12 months | 10 PAs per week (40hrs)
You will provide paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition services for Sheffield and beyond, manage a busy outpatient clinic, contribute to inpatient care and the on-call rota, and support nutritional services for patients on parenteral nutrition. Additionally, you will lead on Paediatric Hepatology, collaborating with the supra-regional transplant unit in Leeds to deliver a comprehensive service, including liver biopsy and post-transplant care.
About You:

MRCP or MRCPCH or evidence of equivalent qualification

Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the GMC, or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.

CCT in general paediatrics or non-UK equivalent, with sub-specialisation in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and nutrition, or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.

Wide experience in paediatrics within a dedicated paediatric unit Specific specialist interest/experience in Gastroenterology

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Clinical Director, your responsibilities will include:

Lead on Paediatric Hepatology, collaborating with the supra-regional transplant unit in Leeds to provide a supra-district service, including liver biopsy and post-transplant clinics.

Provide a comprehensive paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition service for Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and beyond.

Manage a busy outpatient clinic schedule (3-4 clinics per week across Hepatology and Gastroenterology), and support with endoscopy list cover.

Share responsibility for inpatient care and contribute to the on-call rota, ensuring high-quality care and support for colleagues.

Support the nutritional service with weekly ward rounds and management of patients on parenteral nutrition.
