We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and young people with disabilities. This 12-month position is based within our community therapy team at Ryegate Children's Centre, where you will work with a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants. You will be part of a team with a wealth of experience to share and help you grow in your career.

About You: We are looking for someone who loves working with children and is enthusiastic about helping them achieve their goals. You will be keen to learn and develop your skills as an occupational therapist. You must be registered with the HCPC and have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, along with experience working with children.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Community Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy care within the community therapy team alongside physiotherapists and multi-professional teams.

  • Conduct routine occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with a range of conditions in schools and family homes.

  • Provide a diagnosis related to occupational therapy and develop individual treatment plans.

  • Manage a delegated caseload, working under supervision while continuing to develop your skills.

  • Undertake all clinical responsibilities as a developing autonomous practitioner, seeking advice, training, and support from senior colleagues and team members.
