We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Pain Nurse Specialist to join the Pain Management Team at Sheffield Children's Hospital. We're looking for a dedicated professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality paediatric pain care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

You will manage a defined caseload, provide leadership to the nursing team, promote best practices, and guide plans to improve service delivery.

About You:

  • Experienced RSCN or RN (Child) with a background in pain management at a Band 6 level.

  • Excellent clinical, organisational, and communication skills

  • Committed to providing top-quality care for children and their families.

  • Confidence to lead teams, with experience in teaching, audit, research, and governance.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Head of Nursing (S&CC), your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a Defined Caseload: Oversee patient care in different settings, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care

  • Provide Leadership: Lead the nursing team, setting a professional example and ensuring standards of care.

  • Promote Good Practice: Lead programmes to improve customer care, advocate for families, and share best practices within the team.

  • Service Improvement: Help develop new strategies and ideas to improve the specialist pain service.

  • Engage with Families: Work with families to develop new ways of working
