Job Opportunity: Housekeeper - Ward 6, Sheffield Children's Hospital

Join our team as a Housekeeper, where you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our young patients and their families.

Ward 6 is a busy 17-bed ward providing care to children aged 0-18 with oncology and haematology conditions. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in both patient and non-patient areas, monitor stock levels, and ensure infection control procedures are followed.

Work Schedule:

  • Week 1: Mon, Tues, Wed - 7.5 hours/day

  • Week 2: Mon, Sat, Sun - 7.5 hours/day

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Ward Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a safe, family-friendly environment

  • Order and deliver food, drinks, and snacks to patients

  • Collect and deliver pharmacy supplies

  • Support the care team in non-clinical tasks

  • Monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action

  • Coordinate services with Estates, Facilities, and other support departments

  • Help adapt the environment to meet diverse special needs, working with staff and families

  • Support with specific tasks for individual patient needs as directed by the nurse-in-charge
