Job Opportunity: Acting Ward Manager (Ward 4) - Internal Only
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Acting Ward Manager at Ward 4, for approximately 12 months. Ward 4 is a 24-bed medical ward, caring for patients with a range of medical and mental health conditions.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Paediatric Nurse at Band 6 level with strong shift coordination skills. You must be a registered Children's Nurse with current NMC registration.
As Acting Ward Manager, you'll join a supportive and professional team, working with our education and medical teams. You'll have access to great development opportunities and clinical programmes with our university and trust partners.
You will ensure high standards of safe, quality care, managing daily workforce resources, and supporting the professional development of your team.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Head of Nursing, your responsibilities will include:

Manage the ward in different settings, ensuring high-quality care for children, following unit protocols and Trust policies.

Monitor workload and workforce resources on a daily basis to ensure smooth operation.

Lead and support junior colleagues in delivering care, including assessing, planning, and implementing care programmes.

Oversee the professional development of the team, setting objectives and helping staff meet their goals.
