Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a B5 Staff Nurse to step into a B6 development role within the Theatre Admissions Unit.
The successful candidate will have current knowledge and skills of working within the Theatre Admissions Unit and be able to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team.
This development role would suit existing B5 Staff Nurses who have undertaken the relevant training and development and have a good understanding of the B6 role.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and open to leading the Unit to be the best it can be.
Individualised support to develop skills and knowledge of the role of the B6 will be given.
Main duties of the job
You will co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing care to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct.
You will participate in the continued development of nursing, including the supervision, teaching and development of junior nurses and support staff.
You will act as an advocate for patients.
You will plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for an allocated patient group, in consideration of individual need, using prioritisation and delegation skills.
You will assist the Ward Manager in managing and developing the Ward/Department
You will work collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust Patients.
You will give leadership to junior staff and manage the Ward/Unit in the absence of the ward manager.
You will support the ward manager in his/her role and participate in managing the ward, staff and resources, to maintain standards within the clinical governance agenda.
You will represent the ward manager at relevant meetings and forums.
You will deputise for the ward manager when required and act as role model and leader to other junior staff
