Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly dynamic qualified Nursing Associate to join our allergy nursing team.

You will be expected to work in tandem with the allergy nurse specialists as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team supporting allergy clinics, providing high levels of holistic allergy care and education to the child / young person/family with diseases across the atopic spectrum.

You will develop & learn new skills, for example skin prick testing and other skills essential to the role. You will become confident to work within day care environment performing food and drug challenges.

This is a full-time post, part time/job share would be considered. The Allergy team provide a Monday to Friday service and the days worked will be negotiated and flexible to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work collaboratively with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care and Education in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians.

You will work independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing care and within all aspects of the nursing process.

You will act professionally at all times and use your knowledge and experience to make evidence-based decisions to solve challenges and problems.

You recognise and work within the limits of your competencies and are responsible and accountable for your actions.

You will have some responsibility for supervising learners i.e. new starters and students during their placements once their preceptorship is completed, and they have completed any additional training required for their area.

You will be expected to actively contribute to quality assurance processes and service development.
