An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide expert guidance and contribute to assurance and oversight of the provision of high quality Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy across CWAMH, alongside the Joint Heads of Psychological Services.
This will include contributing to workforce planning, recruitment, staff training and development, ensuring appropriate registration and accreditation, therapy specific clinical supervision and adherence to national standards and guidelines around the practice and provision of the specified therapy.
You will have agreed job planned time, within your existing clinical role, in line with the other professional leads of psychological therapies.
Main duties of the job
This role is in addition to the current clinical role of the successful candidate, managing a defined caseload of young people with complex needs using specialist psychoanalytic psychotherapy interventions, including managing safeguarding and risk assessments as necessary.
1.Responding to queries regarding Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy as and when required.
2.Supporting recruitment of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists in the specified modality
3.Leading on therapy specific pathways development and implementation where appropriate
4.Supporting the maintenance and development of clinical skills for clinicians trained in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and those who may be interested in following a psychological therapist career route, through the development of therapy specific special interest forums, CPD or internal training and contributions to supervision
5.Liaising with, and where appropriate, contributing to local modality specific training programmes and ensure training roles and routes within the service are well supported
6.Providing support for audits undertaken regarding the provision of psychological therapies alongside the Joint Heads of Psychological Services and other senior SCFT staff in order to ensure that access to psychological therapies is equitable and matched to population need

- Post-graduate qualification in relevant mental health/social welfare profession and significant demonstrable practice
- Doctoral level qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
- Registration as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with the ACP.
- Attendance on further formal training courses and/or programmes of learning - evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Registration as Clinical Supervisor by ACP

- Experience of working with families using psychotherapeutic approaches; in child mental health settings or equivalent
- Experience of working with a wide variety of presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and multi agency settings.
Desirable
